Dawnsknoll focuses on: sustainability, color, and space. There is a conscious effort in using only materials in their most organic form. Design elements are oriented to take advantage of natural light and cross ventilation, to cut down on utility costs. Sustainable heating is introduced through radiant floor heating. Main recycled features are the rubber bathroom sinks, and the recycled tires is evident on the kitchen and juice bar cabinetry along with the use of cork.

The courtyard veranda and hammock chairs off the playroom connects the indoors and outdoors. To maximize the use of space, the “disappearing” kitchen chairs are stored under the island.

The use of mnmMOD helps in creating a healthy family environment. mnmMOD is a new construction technique focusing on a modular building system that introduces the economy and waste-reduction of pre-fab. As it yields ‘net-zero’ efficiency, it also allows for a reduction of manpower during construction.
